Lawrence Park Lawn Bowling & Croquet Club

The 2010 Season is now underway with a full schedule of open bowling and tournament play, as well as coaching evenings for new bowlers (Mondays at 7:15pm).

During the Season:

Every Thursday evening from 7:00pm is a "Welcome Night"
when we invite visitors to come out and try their hand at bowling and/or croquet. There is no obligation to join. In fact, you may play for 4 weeks at no charge. Members will be on hand to get you started ... once you join, you can take advantage of structured coaching, which takes place on Monday evenings during May and June, with by-appointment coaching at other times.

But ... not just Thursdays ... you are welcome to drop in any time you see any of us on the greens.

Did you know... rumour has it that not only Sir Francis Drake, but the William Tell family were avid bowlers. Unfortunately, there's no way of proving this, since their club archives were placed in a Swiss bank and cannot be opened. Hence, we will never know for whom the Tells bowled.

Ever wondered how a bowling ball is made - here's how: http://science.discovery.com/videos/how-its-made-7-lawn-bowling-ball.html

Facilites for outside Groups:
depending upon availability of greens and volunteer hosts, we can accommodate groups who may wish to have a fun evening or afternoon of bowling and/or croquet. Use the Contact Us page to enquire about rates and facilities for groups.

 Where are we?

Lawrence Park Lawn Bowling and Croquet club is located in the beautiful Alexander Muir Gardens Ravine, on the east side of Yonge just south of Lawrence, in North Toronto. (Check the Google Map). We believe that we have the best location of any club in the city, where our lawns appear far away from the noise and bustle of the city, nestled among mature trees and attractive gardens.

Our members take pride in the appearance of our clubhouse and grounds - many members, in fact, enjoy looking after the plants and flowers that surround the greens. If you are a gardener, perhaps living in an apartment and missing the experience of planting and growing things, then you will want to join in.

The games can be social or competitive. You don't need much in the way of special equipment. It's outdoors. You'll make new friends. It's fun - and you don't need to wear white for other than formal tournaments!

Visit the club for a free introduction or use our Contact page to connect with our Membership Secretary.

We run special events throughout the season, including in-house tournaments and competitions, intra-club invitational events as well as several social evenings and dinners.

Brazillian Dinner: another in our great series of specialty dinner events celebrating the cuisine of various countries represented by our members. This time, a wonderful dinner of Brazilian food prepared by Fatima Rivela, assisted by the hard-working Social crew.

Thursday evenings at 7pm is our Welcome Night when anyone may come and learn about lawn bowling and croquet - there is no charge.
